It is always worthile
The twisted and irregular Lake of Lugano is spectacularly picturesque as is
the
bordering scenery. A boatride along the Lake, taking your camera along with
you, is most rewarding. To obtain the best views of the lake, go to
one of the little hidden and secluded fishing villages, perhaps to Gandria or Morcate.
Have a seat in a grotto - a garden terrace where the stretched and hanging
grapevines make you forget the outside world. Nibble on some local fish and
sip
a cool glass of wine. Drink in the atmosphere yourself...
A town with a Latin temperament
If you want to cast your cares and woes away beneath palm and cypress trees,
you are at the right place. Lugano is the largest and most important town in the
Italian-speaking Tessin. Due to its pleasent climate, Lugano is one of the all time favourites and most frequently visited resort areas during the warmer months.
Lugano is nestled between San Salvatore and Monte Brè. The town is often
referrend to as "the pearl on Lake Lugano". Reaching up the hillside on a bed of
terraces, the old town has many buildings of historical interest.
But if you prefer alittle more hustle and bustle, then head down to the Palazzo Civico.
It is colourful and very lively,
the pulsating heart of the town, with its
many restaurants and boutiques. |
