LAUSANNE
A town of courage and perseverance
Laussane, the capital of the canton waadt (vaud), is the result of centuries of
hard work. This town is situated on the north shore of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva),
and with its steep terraces, it is extremely picturesque.
It was founded by the
Celts, then occupied by the Romans, and eventually destroyed by the alemannen.
This is how Lausanne's history began. An inviting steep climb.
Everything in Laussane rises up to the Cité Get acquaintad with
the Gothic
Cathedral Notre Dame, and the palace St. Marie, where today's canton
government resides. Go to the trade-fair centre Palais de Beaulieu and take a
nice walk in Mon
Repos. The university and the theatre still need to be explored
and a variety of museums to be visitend.
